Custom stainless steel anklets.
Chain, bead and layered anklets. A seasonal category with high repeat purchase — and one where stainless steel's corrosion resistance is a genuine functional advantage rather than a marketing line.

KUBO Jewelry produces custom stainless steel anklets — chain, bead, satellite and layered styles — in 304 or 316L, from 22 cm to 30 cm with extender options, using lobster or spring-ring closures and optional PVD colour coating.
Anklets are a small category in volume terms and an unusually profitable one, because the material cost is low, the design freedom is high, and the customer who buys one often buys a set.
Why stainless steel suits this category
An anklet is worn at the beach, in the shower, and through a summer of sunscreen and salt water. Silver tarnishes under those conditions; brass and zinc alloy corrode outright. 316L stainless steel does neither, which means the piece still looks correct in September. For brands selling into coastal US markets or Mediterranean Europe, that is a functional difference worth stating plainly on the product page rather than dressing up as "waterproof".
Note the honest limit: PVD colour coating on top of stainless steel is durable but not indestructible. Chlorinated pools and abrasive sand will eventually dull a coloured finish. Bare steel is the most durable option.
Length and fit
Anklet length is the most common sizing complaint in the category. A 23 cm chain fits some wearers loosely and others not at all, and unlike a bracelet there is no natural resting position to hide the error. An extender is the practical answer: a 3 cm extender covers most of the range, and it costs less than carrying three lengths as separate SKUs.
Sets and layering
Layered anklets — two or three chains of different weights worn together — have driven most of the category's growth. Developing them as one specification rather than three separate orders is both cheaper and better: the chains are sized to sit at the right relative lengths, and the plating tone matches because they ran in the same batch.
| Specification | Options |
|---|---|
| Types | Chain, bead, satellite, figaro, layered |
| Material | 304 or 316L stainless steel |
| Length | 22 cm to 30 cm |
| Extender | 3 cm or 5 cm chain extender |
| Closure | Lobster, spring ring or toggle |
| Surface | Mirror, brushed, satin, diamond-cut |
| Colour | Steel, gold, rose gold, black |
Anklets are typically sold as a set of two or three. Developing the set as one specification — matched chain, matched clasp — costs less than developing each piece separately and avoids mismatched tone in the box.
